Agriturismo and farmhouses offer the most authentic experience: good local food and lovely owners. They are usually run by local families who grow their own produce and make their own wine — typical dishes such as pasta, meat, cheese and vegetables, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Thin crusts baked in a wood-fired oven, a generous spread of fresh tomato sauce, creamy buffalo cheese and fresh toppings — an authentic Italian pizza is a celebration of flavour. Many of these places also serve a good variety of pasta, salads, meat, fish and desserts.
